There are now claims circulating suggesting that these games have been brought back to life in preparation for them being added to Xbox Game Pass as part of the Microsoft x Activision acquisition, but that’s conjecture at this point. Reportedly, these fixes have been applied across a range of 360-era Call of Duty titles, from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) to Black Ops (2010) – and players are loving it. This has led to hundreds of thousands of players reverting to old, almost entirely abandoned platforms to seek out some retro-based Call of Duty enjoyment. It was revealed just a couple of days ago that old-generation Call of Duty games are seeing a resurgence in popularity following what appears to be a blanket fix applied by Activision across a range of servers for these older titles.
